Mini Review Ubuntu Lucid Lynx

It’s been 3 days now using Ubuntu Lucid Lynx. You might want me to give two thumbs up. No, that is not going to happen. Actually quite disappointing with this new notification thing and ‘clean’ UI. Here are some list that need to be improve.

1. Notification now sucks. You dont even know it will notify you or not. For instance, Empathy notify with green icon and thats it. No blinking or whatsoeva.

2. In Karmic, as we log-in we can click the status icon to log in to empathy, now in Lucid, even harder, supposed to be simpler. Now I have to click the menu can click the Empathy icon to connect to my IMs. Fail

3. Gwibber is totally not functioning. Better off using Yoono.

I hope the next update will improve much better as I will be still using ubuntu.

IdeaBuzz.Net - VidCast Talk Show

Lately been busy with works and so on. Also here is my new venture with Syed Syahrul, the owner of Idea Buzz . A vidcast talk show style, review gadget, website, and promoting stuff in bahasa style. Yeah, I know, why bahasa Malaysia? Just because there are plenty tech site reviewing it in English, and we want to gather the Bahasa Malaysia crowd.

We recorded it in a photography studio - Pohon Minda. Now currently we have 8 episodes and hosted the video on Vimeo. Please subscribe to our channel here at http://vimeo.com/channels/ideabuzz and start promoting it. We do it because of our passion and love about gadget.

Movie Review - The Hangover

I dig into comedy film. Just to name a few and all time favorite is Old School. The director Todd Philips returned with this new movie called The Hangover

Rotten Tomatoes, a highly acclaimed movie review site , give a 79% TOMATOMETER. The story starts as Doug is about to be married and his friends(Stu, a spineless dentist; Phil, schoolteacher ready to party, and bored of married life; Alan, Doug’s soon to be brother in-law) take him to Las Vegas to give him the best bachelor party one has ever seen (and also get hammered themselves while doing it).

The movie starts with a fast foward scene where a phone call from Phil in a desert (Las Vegas, Nevada) saying that Doug is missing and its about 5 1/2 hours from Doug wedding reception. Then the movie roll into introducing all the character involves on the hangover. Doug, Stu, Alan and Phil began their ride to Las Vegas for a bachelor party. The party takes off on the roof of the hotel they are staying in with a toast. The scene fades out..and they wake up in their suite, which is fulled with sign of a party and a tiger in the bathroom and a baby in the closet. Their car and Doug are missing and Stu without a tooth.

The best part is the film didnt show any of the party, some said that it’s like Resevoir Dog, the heist film without the heist. I recommend you to watch the movie (if FINAS approved it, or buy the DVD), its worth it and better than Will Ferrell’s Land of The Lost (sorry will)

I give 4.5 out of 5 stars

Mozilla Ubiquity

Today, another project from Mozilla Labs has take off. Ubiquity is the newest and latest extensions for Firefox 3. For a layman term, ubiquity is the ‘hotkeys’ for the web. Just press the hotkeys and you are able to ‘talk’ to different web  language that comes by default in Ubiquity also you can extend it by makin a new command.

I have download it and tested it, sent message to twitter via ubiquity. Some hacker from planet gnome even add new command to add Remember The Milk command . Cool
