Qigi Android Phone

Another Android phone is in the way on 2009. Qigi i6 will be released with two flavor, Windows Mobile 6.1 and Android. Who cares for winmo os. Prior to this, I think this is more legit news because the is actual phone being manufactured and even a press release party for Qigi (not like zzzPhone and Kogan).

Another OnScreen Keyboard for Android

Openmoko hacker have implemented a new on screen keyboard hacks for Android phone. This time, it claims to be works on all applications and even able to answered call. Awesome! The hacker have submit to android code for review, here and here and for some reason (IMF will be release soon), it got rejected. But anyway, here are some of the screenshots from the emulator.

[How To] Manually download virus definition file

Using a Windows XP on a daily basis will need a serious protection. I have to install an antivirus program. For me, a good free antivirus program on Windows Xp is Avira Antivir . But being free, the support is horrible and only one gateway to update the virus definition file. With sharing network over 40 people in the office, I will always get dsconnected when updating the virus definition file automatically.

So, I created a batch script (under ms-dos) to manually download my virus definition file every 11.00AM , using wget (for windows)

cd downloads
wget -m -nd http://dl.antivir.de/down/vdf/ivdf_fusebundle_nt_en.zip

name it fuse.bat and save it under your c:\ drive. You can use Task Scheduler to automatically download the file.

[How To] Recover UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME error

Have you ever stumble into a epic BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH on your daily Windows XP. Now, WinXP BSOD comes with ‘friendly message’ that indicates what type of error the pc is having.

For UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME, to recover your WinXP pc, just follow the steps.

1. Start your PC.
2. Enter BIOS, and change the boot options to CDROM/DVD
3. Insert your WinXP CD Installer.
4. Press Enter when ‘Press any key to boot cd..’
5. When the Welcome to Setup screen appears, press R to select the repair option.
6. It will direct you to a command prompt.
7. Type chkdsk /r
8. After the check disk is finished, type exit

Now, it will boot normally to you WinXP.
