Hi all, been a while since my last post. Well got some new addiction. Play Barn Buddy at Facebook. http://apps.facebook.com/barnbuddy

It is a simple game yet addictive. Just grow your plant and at the same time you can steal from your friends, not just stealing but you also can take care their farms too.

Simple idea, I remember back then when daniel cerventus of the barcamp organizer said that “Idea is cheap”. It’s true. If you have an idea, just throw it in, gather some friends, discuss whether it is possible to launch it, and make money from it.

2 remarkable event happening last Wednesday, first it’s our 4th wedding anniversary. We went out and hunting for a new place to dine. We discovered a new makan spot, a fine-dine Thai style. It a house converted to a restaurant call Tera-Thai, alongside Jalan Abdul Samad.

Second, when about to dine, my wife suprised me with a gift box, its a new phone, E71. w00t. I been planning to get the latter E63 for myself, but my wife upgrde it to E71. hehe

Well, its a good phone to start, S60v3, which I never used before. Before this my phone is Nokia 3310->SE T610->Moto E680->Moto E680i->O2 XDAII->SE K660i. So my last nokia use was in 2001. It feels weird to familiarize the button, the screen. The full Qwerty keyboard is awesome, only the number 0 placing is weird. The ‘home’ screen is awesome.

The wizard to start the phone for the first time is awesome, all config about mms, 3g all done in a breeze. There is also some ‘Phone Switch’ mode which you can transfer all contacts and so on. I tried to transfer all contacts from my SE K660i failed because the E71 cant recognize it formats.

Now the apps part. First and foremost, I downloaded Opera Mini 4.2, next the Nokia Messaging applications (http://email.nokia.com), probably the best part because the apps is awesome, you can configure up to 10 mails. It also can view HTML format. Next the social apps for twitter. I have installed 3 twitter client; twibble, Gravity and twittix. For me twittix is the best, altho is a demo version (dont know the limitation, any ideas). I also installed Fring, but when I set to idle mode, the battery feels hot. Any leads?

I’ve also managed to installed m4e (Mail for Exchange) to sync up my calendar. This is what I want, the native calendar on E71 can sync the Google Calendar.

E71 is a awesome. Need to explore more or any guest like to share some view or any cool apps installed on your E71. Here are the list of apps installed in my E71

It’s been a while since the last post here. Nothing much happened for the last few months. To sum it up, last February , me and the family went to Gold Coast, Australia for holidays. It was a blast 5 days in my life. Definitely when my pocket is full enough, will go there again. Last week, another holiday to Langkawi Island with the in-laws. It is the third time for me in the Langkawi, I think I need to find ‘keluarga angkat’ there. Haha.

Ok, here is my latest pet project, reminder, this is for fun, I dont care whether it is being done or not, it just to test my capabilities. If anyone can do it, so do I. The latest is called Radio Songs. Picture this, you heard a songs on the radio, and you need to find the title of the songs and the artist who sings it.

Enter, radio songs: now you know the songs title and the artist by going to the website here -> http://codedb.net/radiosongs . It will lists all the major (currently AMP Network) radio in Malaysia such as Hitz FM, Era FM and Sinar FM to name a few.

The second part is, now radio songs is now on twitter. Woo hoo, I have created a twitter bot called @radiosongs . It is easy, just follow @radiosongs and type @radiosongs era and it will reply back the current song on Era FM. Available radio are Era, Sinar, Hitz, My, Mix, XFresh, Gegar

Kogan unveils their own Netbook

Yesterday, Kogan unveils their own netbook exclusively to APC and Gizmodo AU. For me, it just another netbook using the same N270 prcessor which I possesed in a form of Acer Aspire One (Acer AO), yes the Linux version. Kogan seeks opinion from community in search of the perfect os for the netbook. It were down to Ubuntu Netbook Remix, KDE4(what?), and the winner is gOS (which is a fork from Ubuntu).

It wil be available on 10th April onwards according Ruslan.

[How To] Recover The registry cannot load the hive error

Managing two cybercafes is taxing, virus and lotsa problem to be handle. Lately some of my machines starts display BSOD.

“Stop: c0000218 {Registry File Failure} The registry cannot load the hive (file): \SystemRoot\System32\Config\SOFTWARE or its log or alternat”

For this, to recover your WinXP pc, just follow the steps.

1. Start your PC.
2. Enter BIOS, and change the boot options to CDROM/DVD
3. Insert your WinXP CD Installer.
4. Press Enter when ‘Press any key to boot cd..’
5. When the Welcome to Setup screen appears, press R to select the repair option.
6. It will direct you to a command prompt.
7. Type chkdsk /r
8. After the check disk is finished, type exit

Now, it will boot normally to you WinXP.

Kogan Agora Resurrected?

Folks at Gizmodo AU had a chance to get their hands on new Kogan Agora. Ruslan has his team to work hard on these new Kogan Agora. Unfortunately, the folks at Gizmodo only got the original Kogan Agora.

The new Kogan Agora will most likely being a full touchscreen device

The final release model will almost certainly ditch the qwerty keypad for a 3.8-inch, iPhone like touchscreen which will take advantage of the cupcake update’s onscreen keypad. The phone will also definitely run Android.

Sound like we are back at stage 0 again, remember last year christmas announce?

Its kinda late story and I havent touch my psp for a long time.

PSP CFW 5.00M33-5 Changes :

This update is a try to fix memory stick low speed since 3.80.

Instructions: Copy UPDATE folder /PSP/GAME/ and run.

If you come from a version prior to 5.00 M33, put sony update as 500.PBP in same folder, or let the program download it for you using a wifi connection.

Changes:

- A setting has been added to recovery, that, when enabled it may increase memory stick reading speed. (only on the psp, not in the pc).
By default it is disabled. If you installed 3.71 fatmsmod, do not use this setting, as its perfomance with 3.71 driver has not been tested. Instead, reinstall 5.00 m33-4 using dc8 and update to 5.00 m33-5

The included file fat_comparison.html contains a comparison of perfomance between the 5.00 fat driver, the 3.71 one, and the 5.00 one with the speed up hack during the read of an iso.
The test was done on the game Valkyrie Profile in cso format in march33 mode. Other games, modes and applications different than iso reading showed similar results.

I know, this is not a ‘new’ gadget. Planet Maemo have pointed out that recently a price drop for this N810. Last year when Nokia N810 came out, the predecessor N800 also cutting it price for almost RM1000. It’s a killer product which include GPS, Wifi but no keyboard. When N810 came with keyboard, this is a perfect gadget at least for me, but I have too many commitments, I keep this in my wishlist. :)

So again another hint that maybe another N series will come out this month bundled with Maemo 5, the N810 price is drop again.

Buy.com - USD 221.99 (but when I want to ‘Add to Cart’, some popup with message ‘This promotion does not valid in your area’, damn!. So I head to Amazon, the price is USD 273, still cheap.
