[How To] Recover The registry cannot load the hive error
Managing two cybercafes is taxing, virus and lotsa problem to be handle. Lately some of my machines starts display BSOD.
“Stop: c0000218 {Registry File Failure} The registry cannot load the hive (file): \SystemRoot\System32\Config\SOFTWARE or its log or alternat”
For this, to recover your WinXP pc, just follow the steps.
1. Start your PC.
2. Enter BIOS, and change the boot options to CDROM/DVD
3. Insert your WinXP CD Installer.
4. Press Enter when ‘Press any key to boot cd..’
5. When the Welcome to Setup screen appears, press R to select the repair option.
6. It will direct you to a command prompt.
7. Type chkdsk /r
8. After the check disk is finished, type exit
Now, it will boot normally to you WinXP.
